Eric Parr, PGA
Director of Golf UNM Golf Courses
I started playing golf at the age of 8, tagging along with my dad to the golf course. It was not until High School that I took a more serious approach to golf. In college, at UNM, I discovered that golf was not just a hobby but a passion. After graduating from UNM with my BS in Geography I joined the PGA PGM program. As a teacher I strive to keep a fun, relaxed atmosphere and work with students to teach the laws, principles and preferences of the golf swing. I like to facilitate knowledge by understanding ball flight. I enjoy working with all talents, especially beginners and those who are looking to improve their game.
My motto “Rule 35: Have Fun.”

Seth Watkins- PGA Associate
Seth Watkins was born in Bethesda, Maryland, and graduated from J. A. Fair High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. After completing two years of college at Western Kentucky, he joined the Navy, and embarked on a 20-year career, completing multiple combat, overseas, and instructional tours, and retired from the Navy in 2016.
As a competitive golfer, Seth was the captain of his high school golf team, and after he joined the Navy, he played on several command golf teams, two international command teams, and qualified for the Northern Nevada Amateur.
After his retirement from the Navy, Seth knew he wanted to be involved with the golf industry. He volunteered to work at the Broadmoor in 2018 for the U.S. Senior Open, and in August of 2018, left home to learn how to become a professional within the golf industry. Starting this journey at the Golf Academy of America in Phoenix, Arizona, Seth also resumed competitive play, earning a spot on the Golf Academy’s National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA) team. While there, he worked with Teach Grow Achieve (TGA) as a head golf coach for elementary school children across three schools, teaching beginning fundamentals to kids in the 5 -11 age range.
Unfortunate circumstances led to the Golf Academy’s closure before Seth could complete his education; however, another opportunity immediately presented itself, and he transferred to Keiser University in West Palm Beach, Florida where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Golf Management with honors in 2019. During his time at Keiser, he was fortunate enough to again qualify for competitive play on the top-25 nationally ranked Keiser NCCGA team, worked a PGA Tour Event at the Honda Classic, and caddied for LPGA star Michelle McGann in the Prader Willi Pro-Am at PGA National Golf Club. He has earned several qualifications, such as Titleist Performance Institute Golf Instructor Certification, and Impact Zone (Bobby Clampett) Instructor certification, as well as served as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Broadmoor Resort and Black Bear Golf Club in Colorado. To round out his experience, he is certified as a Master Club Fitter and Club Builder by Club Champion. He is currently on staff at the University of New Mexico Championship Course, while finishing working towards a Class “A” membership in the PGA of America. He is available for instruction during the morning hours, and his hourly rate is $85 an hour.
